Lark in the Park Saturday October 3rd, 2015
Come for a wonderful 12 mile hike in one of the more remote areas of the western Catskills. Enjoy hiking ups and downs on Beaver Meadow, Millbrook Mtn ( 3480 ft.) and Balsam Lake Mtn. (3720 ft.): Terrain can be rudged in some sections, but hike provides a nice variety of delights. Trail map 144, 142. EARLY OUTS not possible so pack accordingly. Roads from NYS Thruway to Margaretville area to Barkabaum Road over to Beaverkill road (BY Little Pond Campgrounds) to Turnwood…
west and south rte17 to old 17 to …ALL to BEAVERKILL ROAD to TURNWOOD and from here all 40 ish minutes on woods road to Balsam Lake Trailhead at end or road and park area at right of road and the Balsam LaKe Club By 7:45 sign up for 8am depart time for hike start.
