The Thorn Preserve is 62 acres of fields and riparian forest. Come walk the Thorn Preserve with the Catskill Center’s invasive species specialist, Dan Snider. You will learn about invasive species in the Catskill, see our Hemlock grove that will incubate a beetle that will attack Hemlock Woolly Adelgid, see our pollinator apiary and learn about riparian buffers.

Driving Directions: The Thorn Preserve is located at 55 John Joy Road in Woodstock, NY. John Joy Road is near the intersection of Zena Road and Sawkill Road in Woodstock.
Once you turn into the driveway please park in the field immediately to your left.
