Loop de Loop Hike 2024
October 8 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
A sweet beginner/intermediate 2.2-mile Loop de Loop Hike in Mongaup Pond State Park. The woodland trail around scenic Frick Pond is suitable for beginner hikers comfortable walking this distance and all hikers who enjoy slowing down to enjoy the beauty of autumn in the Catskills. Reflections of changing colors in the pond and the quiet beauty of the hemlock grotto leave lasting impressions. The trail has very little elevation change but there are rocky bits, tree roots, and some muddy spots along the way so waterproof hiking shoes or boots are recommended. We love using hiking poles and will bring a few extra pairs. Let me know if you would like to try them!
