First, bushwhack up Spruce Creek (past Catskill Mountain house “reservoir” for approximately 1.7 mi. to Stoppel Point, plane crash site and views. Then it’s a lovely trail/ ridge walk (1.7 mi.) to North Point views and return via Mary’s Glen(red) and Rock Shelter(yellow) trails. Roughly 1,250 elevation gain with .25-.5 mi. steep bushwhack section.

Driving Directions: To reach the Scutt Road Parking Area take State Route 23A (4.9 miles west of Palenville; 2 miles east of Tannersville traffic light) to North Lake Road (Co. Hwy. 18). Take this road 2.2 miles and see the small sign for the access point (just before the state campground entrance), turn right, and the parking area is on the right.
