Rochester Hollow Hike

This hike to the John Burroughs Memorial Monument (erected by the boys of the Raymond Riordan School) climbs a gradual grade near the stream and includes some great stone walls.
Event Duration: 4 miles, 3.5 hours
Level of Difficulty: Easy-Moderate

Bring: lunch/ snacks, water/ beverage, sturdy shoes, rain gear, and insect repellent.

Driving Directions: Matyas Road is .25 miles west of the Peekamoose Restaurant on Route 28 in Big Indian. There are advance and intersection signs for the right turn. The trailhead is a short drive from Rt. 28. From Route 28 west, Matyas Rd. is a left turn, 1.2 miles after Belleayre Lake/ Day Use Area. There are advance and intersection signs.
