Native Tree ID Walk at Mountain Top Arboretum

Come meet the beautiful Native Trees of the Mountaintop Arboretum! Enjoy an inspiring autumn walk with herbalist Samuel Perry as we learn how to identify the trees native to our forest. Along the way, Samuel will share traditional tree lore and herbal wisdom to deepen our awareness and appreciation of the different species we encounter.

From NYC: Go north on NYS Thruway to Exit 20 (Saugerties). After the toll booth, turn left at the traffic light for 1/10th mile, then turn right on Route 32. After 6 miles, take the left fork onto Route 32A to Palenville. At the traffic light, turn left onto Route 23A. Continue west on 23A to Tannersville, then turn right at the traffic light onto Route 23C. After 2 miles, turn right onto the dirt road, Maude Adams Road, 50 yards to Arboretum parking. From Albany and East: Go south on NYS Thruway to Exit 21 (Catskill). After the toll booth, turn left and proceed to Route 9W. Turn right onto Route 9W South to Route 23A. Continue west on Route 23A to Palenville. Continue west on 23A to Tannersville, then turn right at the traffic light onto Route 23C. After 2 miles, turn right onto the dirt road, Maude Adams Road, 50 yards to Arboretum parking. See Google Map >
