     From Beech Hill Road Trail Head which is on the East Side of the Road we will follow a section of the Finger Lakes Trail on Cabot Mountain to the overlook of Little Pond. Follow Laura Battelani, CMC Board Member and David Lucas, volunteers for NY/NJ Trail Conference as they maintain their adopted trails. Join us on our Autumn Trail Maintenance Hike on Dry Brook Ridge in Margaretville New York. We will drive to the Hill St. trail and climb approximately 1500 feet in a moderate climb and do light work clearing the trail and making sure things are tidy on Dry Brook Ridge. Join Catskill Center staff member Olivia Bernard on Sunday, October 3rd for a fun, challenging hike to the top of Mount Tremper and enjoy the 360-degree views from the top cab of Mount Tremper Fire Tower. This woodland hike offers a 2.2-mile loop around scenic Frick Pond that is suitable for beginners who are comfortable walking this distance. Winding through the hemlocks, with views across the pond, there may be sightings of mushrooms, great blue heron, and other woodland wonders.  The trail surface includes some rocky terrain and tree roots, and often has muddy sections. Indigenous Peoples Day Hike | Sunday, October 10th, 2021 @ 10 AM

   As an alternative to Columbus Day join us to celebrate and honor the first people to inhabit the Catskills by visiting several Manitou Hassennech (spirit stones) sites in the Woodstock area, consisting of dry stacked stone cairns, stone rows, effigies and aligned boulders, all expressing and ancient, sophisticated belief system.
