SUMMARY:Tortoise and Hare Hikes 2019
DESCRIPTION:        You are invited to join a Tortoise and Hare Hike in nearby Mongaup State Park\, in celebration of the 16th annual Catskills Lark in the Park. This woodland hike offers two choices\, so both beginner and intermediate hikers can join in. “Tortoises” will enjoy a 2.2-mile loop around scenic Frick Pond\, and the “Hares” will enjoy a brisk 4.1 mile scamper\, with a little more uphill. Pick the hike that best fits your ability. The trail surface includes rocky terrain and some beautiful old pathways through the woods. \nThis is a family friendly event! \nLet us know which hike length you prefer when you register.  There are registration forms for both below.\n \nEvent Duration:  2.2 miles; 4.1 miles \nLevel of Difficulty:  Easy-Moderate;  Moderate \nLeader(s):   Trip leaders are Lisa Lyons of Morgan Outdoors and Heather Jacksy of Sullivan County Planning\, two of the partner organizations behind TrailKeeper.org which is celebrating 6 years as an online source of trail information in Sullivan County. \nBring: Bring water and snacks; wear waterproof shoes or boots for some wet sections. \nRegistration required by October 5th.  Use registration form below to register. \nGroup size is limited to 12 per group\, so register early. \nFee:  No \nDogs allowed:  Dogs not allowed on this family-friendly hike. \nQuestions about this event can be directed to:  Lisa at info@morgan-outdoors.com or call 845-439-5507 \nMorgan Outdoors is located at 46 Main Street in Livingston Manor. Hours are 10 – 6pm Mon\, Thur\, Fri\, Sat. and 10-4 Sunday. \nDriving Directions:   Meet at Frick Pond Trailhead\, Mongaup State Park \nFrom Rt. 17\, Exit 96\, at the intersection with DeBruce Road\, Livingston Manor: Turn onto DeBruce Road (CR 82) and follow NE for 6 miles to Mongaup Rd. Turn left onto Mongaup Road\, follow 2.5 miles (past DEC Fish Hatchery on right) to fork in the road. At fork\, bear left onto Beech Mtn.
