SUMMARY:Topo Map Reading for Beginners
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wanted to learn what a topographic map is and how to make sense of all those squiggly lines? Come sit around the map table with us and we’ll teach you the basics! Topo maps show the shape of the earth’s surface with contour lines. These lines represent changes in elevation so we can measure the height of mountains and the steepness of slopes – great info for planning a hike! Past participants have remarked that this old-school skill is not only fun but super useful when our electronics fail.\nOne lucky registrant will win a topographic map to take home! \nEvent Duration: One hour \nLevel of Difficulty:  Easy \nLeader: Lisa Lyons\, Morgan Outdoors \nBring: BYOB The cafe next door\, Forage & Gather Market\, has options too \nRegistration required: This event is limited to five people so please register early.  The registration deadline is October 5.
