Mt Pisgah Ridge Hike to Old Hotel Site and Carriage Road
October 4 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
This is the ‘other’ Mt Pisgah, northern Catskills. The hike begins with a mile on a service road to a trail that leads up to the Long Path. We’ll enjoy views from a ledge on NE Richmond Mt then continue along the Long Path to Mt Pisgah. As we cross from Schoharie to Greene County, we’ll step across the foundation of the hotel constructed after the Civil War. The hotel enjoyed thousands of visitors before it burned. Well have lunch at ‘Etched Rock’, with carved initials dating back to the hotel era. The descent to the vehicles is via the carriage road constructed for hotel construction and carriage visitors.
