SUMMARY:Mindful Observation Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a two-mile hike through a mixed hardwood and coniferous forest\, featuring vernal pools\, a seasonal stream\, bluestone quarries\, and rock walls. Along the way\, we’ll observe geological features big and small\, cultivating an appreciation for the history\, beauty\, and serenity of the Israel Wittman Sanctuary\, one of Woodstock Land Conservancy’s public preserves. \nEvent Duration: 2.5 miles\, 1 hour \nLevel of Difficulty:  Easy-Moderate \nLeader: Miranda Javid \nBring: snacks\, drink as needed; proper clothing and shoes for a walk in the woods \nRegistration is required by 10/8. Go 4.3 miles and turn right onto Zena Highwoods Road/ Church Road. Go 2.4 miles and turn right onto Old Sawmill Rd. Head southeast into the preserve\, traveling through mixed hardwood and coniferous forest. Parking is on the left at the end of the road. \nGPS coordinates: 2XH5+HP Saugerties\, New York \nAfter you press “Submit” below the registration form\, you will see a screen that says “Your registration has been submitted”.
