Leave No Trace Hike on Slide Mountain
October 5, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Join a Trail Conference Trail Steward on a beautiful fall hike to the summit of the tallest mountain in the Catskills! During the hike, Trail Stewards will discuss Leave No Trace principles as well as what it means to be a trail steward. The hike will begin at the Slide Mountain trailhead where we start the difficult climb up to the summit. Along the way, you will experience a few different viewpoints where you will be able to enjoy the changing fall foliage. At the summit, you can enjoy a snack and learn about John Burroughs, an early conservationist, and naturalist who frequently visited the area.
