SUMMARY:Indian Head Loop
DESCRIPTION:We’ll hike the loop clockwise over Indian Head Mountain along the Devil’s Path  from the Prediger Road DEC parking area. This is a rugged trail with some ledges to climb. \nEvent Duration: 6.25 miles\, 5 hours \nLevel of Difficulty:   Moderate-Difficult \nLeader: Cal Johnson \nBring: Lunch/ snacks\, water/ drink\, sturdy shoes with good tread\, proper clothing\, rain gear\, insect repellent. Hiking poles can be helpful. \nRegistration required by October 9. This hike is limited to 12 people\, so please register early.  Use registration form below to register. \nDogs allowed:  Yes\, only with permission of event leader. \nAdditional Information:  Please be on time. Hike starts at 9am sharp. Lot can fill up early –  it’s leaf peeping season.\n \nQuestions about this event can be directed to:  Cal Johnson at hikeski@hvc.rr.com or (845) 389-1599 \nDriving Directions: To reach the trailhead from State Route 23A in Tannersville\, take South Main\, stay left on Spruce (becomes Platte Clove Rd.) and at 1.5 miles stay left on Platte Clove Road and continue another 4.2 miles. Turn right on Prediger Road\, following the signs for forest preserve parking near the end of the road. \nFrom Route 23A west\, take a right on Bloomer Road (.6 miles after the 23A/ 214 jnctn). Just after a mile stay to the right at the yield signs and onto Platte Clove Road (Co. Hwy. 16). Continue 4.3 miles and turn right on Prediger Road\, following the signs for forest preserve parking near the end of the road. \nPrediger Road can also be reached from West Saugerties by taking Platte Clove Road west. After the last set of mailboxes\, the road rises sharply\, and Prediger Road is on the left in about 2.7 miles. \nGPS coordinates to Prediger Road Parking Area: 42.133945\, -74.104206 \nAfter you press “Submit” below the registration form\, you will see a screen that says “Your registration has been submitted”.
