SUMMARY:Hike the  Headwaters Trails
DESCRIPTION:   We will walk around the bottom of Bald Mountain and climb up the East Side to the summit where we will have lunch and enjoy the 270 degree view of the Catskills.  The West Branch of the Delaware River rises on the slopes of the mountain.  This site was formerly a ski area and remnants of the lift equipment remain. \nEvent Duration:  7 miles\, 6 hours \nLevel of Difficulty:  Moderate-Difficult \nLeader(s):  Bob Moses \nBring:   Lunch\, snacks\,  good hiking shoes\, plenty to drink\,  tick repellent \nRegistration required by October 6th.  Use registration form below to register. \nPLEASE contact the leader and cancel if you are not able to come as others may want to take your place. \nGroup size is limited to 12 so register early. \nFee:  No \nDogs allowed:  Yes\, with permission of event leader \nQuestions about this event can be directed to:  rmoses@delhitel.net \nDriving directions:  We will meet in the Parking Lot across the street from the DEC Offices at 65561 State Highway 10\,  Stamford NY 12167\, (not the ball fields). From SR 23 in Stamford \, drive just northeast of the village on NY Route 10. \nFrom Windham NY take NY Route 23 west 26 miles to Rt 10 and turn right. \nFrom Margaretville\, take Rt 30 north to Rt 23 in Grand Gorge and turn west to Rt 10 in Stamford\,  28 miles total. \nFrom Oneonta take Rt 23 east to Rt 10 and turn left\,  27 miles total. \nGPS coordinates:  42.423330\, -74.621186 \n\n
