SUMMARY:Fall Birding Walk at Shawangunk Grasslands
DESCRIPTION:Join the Catskill Center’s Finn Parnell for a guided stroll through the Shawangunk Grasslands National Wildlife Refuge\, a haven for bird enthusiasts. \nDiscover a diverse array of birds while learning to use mobile apps for easy identification—don’t forget your binoculars! A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow. \nEvent Duration: 1.5 miles\, 2 hours \nLevel of Difficulty:  Easy \nLeader: Finn Parnell \nBring:  Binoculars\, sunscreen\, water\, snack\, layers\, rain gear. \nRegistration required by October 8.  Use registration form below to register. \nPLEASE contact the leader and cancel if you are not able to come as others may want to take your place. \nGroup size is limited so register early. \nDogs allowed:  No. \nQuestions about this event can be directed to: fparnell@catskillcenter.org or (845) 688-3369 \nDriving Directions: \nFrom Ellenville (junction of State Routes 209 and 52)\, take Route 52 11.3 miles east. Turn left on Bruynswick Road (Ulster County Hwy 7) and continue for two miles. Turn right onto Bruyn Road (Walkill Ave) and proceed 3 miles. Turn left onto Hoagerburgh and continue for 1.4 miles and the entrance to the Grasslands is on the right. \nFrom Route 52 East\, continue one mile past Pine Bush and turn right on Bruynswick Road (Ulster County Hwy 7) and continue for two miles. Turn right onto Bruyn Road (Walkill Ave) and proceed 3 miles. Turn left onto Hoagerburgh and continue for 1.4 miles and the entrance to the Grasslands is on the right. \nFrom the village of New Paltz\, take 299 west over the Walkill River and bear left onto Ulster County Hwy 7. Go 13.7 miles and turn left onto Bruyn Road (Walkill Ave) and proceed 3 miles. Turn left onto Hoagerburgh and continue for 1.4 miles and the entrance to the Grasslands is on the right. \nGPS coordinates: 41.63486\, -74.21359 \nAfter you press “Submit” below the registration form\, you will see a screen that says “Your registration has been submitted”.
