SUMMARY:Doubletop\, Graham & Balsam Lake Hike
DESCRIPTION:    This is a challenging bushwhack and trail hike to three Catskills high peaks: Doubletop\, Graham & Balsam Lake. The first segment of the hike is relatively easy\, following the Seager trail\, and established herd paths to the Doubletop Canister. The second segment\, bushwhacking from Doubletop to Graham\, with the remains of an old radio station\, is more challenging. The third segment to the Balsam Lake Fire Tower\, and the final segment down to our cars are trails. \nEvent Duration:  8 miles\, 8 hours \nLevel of Difficulty:  Difficult  — Bushwhack \nLeader(s):  Marv Freedman \nBring: Lunch\, headlamps with extra batteries\, comfortable hiking boots\, hiking poles (recommended)\, snacks\, at least 3 liters of water/sports drink\, tick repellent \nRegistration required by October 2nd.  Use registration form below to register. \nPLEASE contact the leader and cancel if you are not able to come as others may want to take your place. \nGroup size is limited to 12 so register early. \nFee:  No \nDogs allowed:  Yes\, only with permission of event leader \nQuestions about this event can be directed to:  marvfreedman@gmail.com \nDriving Directions:  We’ll meet at the US Post Office\, 8 Galli Curci Rd\, Highmount\, NY\, just off of Rt 28 (Google Maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/KhG3eHzN2J59bUXu7). We’ll leave there at 8:15 and will drive to the Dry Brook Ridge Trail Parking Area on Mill Brook Rd. (Google Maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/4Hyrt7uP3meqE3Nq8) This is where the hike will end. We’ll leave cars there and will drive to the Seager trailhead (Google Maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/BmbFksYCYzGaytBaA) to start the hike. \nGPS coordinates:  42.147225\, -74.495274 \nAfter you press “Submit” below the registration form\, you will see a screen that says “Your registration has been submitted”.
