Ever wondered about the ‘bamboo’ growing along the Delaware or weird ‘Frankenfish’ you might keep hearing about? Well, join the Catskill Center’s CRISP Aquatic Invasive Species Manager, Sarah Coney, to learn about invasive species in the Delaware Watershed while enjoying a scenic, fall paddle. We’ll focus on invasive plant and animal species found in the Delaware River, how they were introduced, how they impact the environment (and us!), and how to ID them, all while enjoying a beautiful five-mile paddle down the Delaware.

Event Duration: 5 miles, 5 hours

Level of Difficulty:  Moderate-Difficult

Bring: Lunch/ snacks, , watercraft, life jacket, sunscreen, proper clothing and rain gear, and anything else needed to be on the water.

Driving Directions: From State Route 97 North of Narrowsburg, bear right onto Kirks Road following sign for Narrowsburg. Proceed to the traffic light, turn right. Just past  the Theater/ Town Hall turn right on DeMauro Lane. Proceed a short distance and the DEC boat launch is on the left. From State Route 97 south of Narrowsburg, turn left onto State Route 52 toward Narrowsburg. Go a half mile, and just past the Theater/ Town Hall turn right on DeMauro Lane. Proceed a short distance and the DEC boat launch is on the left.
