Mount Tremper Fire Tower Hike

Mount Tremper Fire Tower has the most beautiful view of the tallest mountains in the Catskills and the Hudson Valley. Hike the 3 mile ascent to the top of Mount Tremper (2,000 foot elevation gain) and enjoy the views from inside the fire tower.

Driving Directions: Trail head located 1.5 miles south of Phoenicia on Plank Road. Take State HWY 28 through the Catskills to Phoenicia. Go South on Main Street out of town toward the Hamlet of Mount Tremper. This turns into Plank Road and it is 1.5 miles to the parking area opposite Esopus Creek–there is trail head parking signage and a kiosk there.
