Echo Lake Lean-To And Campsite Restoration with Catskill Conservation Corps

  Come help us improve your outdoor adventures in the Catskills and do important work at the Echo Lake lean-to!

On Saturday, Oct. 6, we’ll be relocating the pit privy at the Echo Lake lean-to.  Anyone can participate. No experience is necessary. Wear clothes that can get dirty and bring work gloves, plenty of water and a lunch you can eat on the trails.

Meet us at 9:00 a.m. at the Platte Clove Trailhead  next to the Platte Clove Preserve on Platte Clove Road.

Please sign-up in advance so that we know how many people are coming and can let you know of any changes in plans.

Event Duration:  8 miles, 6 hours

Level of Difficulty:  Moderate

Bring:  Wear clothes that can get dirty, good hiking shoes and bring work gloves. plenty of water and a lunch you can eat on the trails.

Group size is limited, so register early.

Driving Directions:   From Exit 20 of the NYS Thruway: Go west 2.1 miles on CR 212 to Blue Mountan Rd,/Rte.35. Turn north 1.4 miles to W. Saugerties Rd./Rte. 33 and turn west. Go 1.9 miles to Platte Clove Rd. and continue straight up the clove. Follow for 2.4 miles until you reach the parking area on the right.

From Tannerville: Just west of town, turn onto Bloomer Rd, and follow it as it becomes Platte Clove Rd. for 6.3 miles until you reach the parking area on the left.
